The Weekend

My weekend more consisted of Thursday and Friday. My friend Ben from work came up to visit. Over labor day weekend I worked for him and really didn't want to and only made $12 that night so he said he would come up and take me out to dinner in return so where did we go... TEXAS ROAD HOUSE! It was a fun night.

Friday night I was planning on going to a Kings of Leon concert with Krista but she said he car wouldn't start and couldn't come. So Taylor and my other roommate Anna went with me and our friend Justin. Laura and a bunch of people were going too so we met up with them.
Walker was my singing partner because Taylor and Laura only knew a few of their songs

Taylor and I standing in the rain... it wasn't too bad but we were on the lawn and I had mud pretty much up to my knees.
***So I know I've already posted a few blogs about ripping the crotch out of my jeans well... It was raining the other day and I slipped and feel and that's right! Good bye pair of Jeans #3!

Rivals

My best friend Taylor is a huge Miami Dolphins fan! So last Monday when the game was one it was on Colts vs. the Dolphins it was quit a time. Our friend Cameron who is also a Dolphins fan had a bet going with me that if the Colts won he would wear a Colts jersey around campus the next day and if the Dolphins won I would wear their jersey.

Taylor and I took a lot of crazy pictures to emphasize our rivalry

Some how we ended up with each others jerseys onAt the end of the game we were still friends:) I'm just glad I didn't have to wear teal and orange out in public! :-)

It's Tuesday!

Tuesday's are a very important day. Lots of fun events take place on Tuesdays....

This particular Tuesday was not so fun. I had an anatomy practical and a micro biology exam. Plus two labs to go to. Not so fun... BUT... tonight is fun.

Our neighbors down the road and our house have been going to Buffalo Wild Wings on Tuesdays for $.40 wings. It's a lot of fun to go with those guys. We call the the guys from 1128 because that is where they live (smart huh!) We have the same landlord and there are six of them but they are a blast and we have really gotten to know and love these guys.

Also on Tuesdays my friend Sean O'Connor has a bunch of people over at this house. It's always a good time because I literally laugh the whole night! It's a good get away for me! The guys who live there are just so funny!

That's my typical Tuesday.

My Room

I know I've been at school for quit some time now but my room finally has all its pieces. My parents came down today with my desk to top everything off and it is by far the coolest desk ever... but we'll get to that. Here is my bed... I debated on colors forever and I was planning on doing black and maroon but I feel in love with this quilt and couldn't say no. So I splurged a little and bought it.

I love my closet as well. It is pretty nice sized and it keeps me organizedtwo racks for clothes

I got this lovely dresser for free from a lady who lives right next to the Frog. She was going to throw it away and instead I gave the pieces to my dear old Dad and he fixed it right up for me. There was a leg missing and the wood pieces didn't really match but he took care of that. He made it a nice shiny black for me and slapped the leg right back on there.
As for the best part. I told my Dad at the beginning of the summer that I wanted him to build me a desk that would be perfect for me. We went through many ideas and many designs. Finally Dad brought home a picture similar to what you see below. He made a few modifications to accommodate what I wanted and WA LA we have a desk.

Its my book shelf and my desk all in one. Now I have a perfect place to blog and do homework :/ But it makes homework a bit more tolerable than having to go the library or sit on the floor. The sign above my desk my Dad didn't make. I got that nice little piece from Shipshewanna but it matches perfectly.

Thanks Dad. You did a great job! I'm sure I'll come up with something else for you to build!

Downer of a Day

This morning I went to see Ball State's head athletic trainer. He's kind of my go to guy down here when I need anything. I got this connection through working at The Frog (perks of the job). I called him up to catch up a little and ask for a favor... to look at my shoulder (Yes, the same one I've had two surgeries on).

Initial Injury

This summer when working at The Frog we had like 100 bikers come in one day and we were all busting out butts to make sure everyone was waited on plus our normal customers. It was fun running around and doing all this plus I made good money that day. So I usually work outside on the patio and there are three steps to walk up to get inside. I am running up those steps to get inside quickly and yes, as graceful as I am I tripped. When I did this I threw my arm around (like I was throwing a baseball) to catch myself. While I'm doing this I throw my shoulder out of socket or so I think because it went right back in. The rest of the day and days after my shoulder continues to bother me.

When I decided to do something about it...

Down here at school I have a cheerleading coaching job. I also donate plasma for a little extra money. Why not just sit there with a needle in my arm for 45mins while doing homework and get paid for it. So I went there to try and donate again and they told me I needed to get a physical again because you have to get one ever six months or something like that. I am there getting my physical and they ask me about my surgeries and I tell them I don't think my shoulder is better. BIG MISTAKE! Little did I know I can't donate because I need my own plamsa to help heal my bum shoulder even if I don't know its torn. SO... I have to get a doctors release to donate.

This is where Neal the Athletic Trainer comes in. I called him up and we talked and just from talking he said it sounds like the surgical route will be the best option. :( Not something I want to hear first thing in the morning. So I'm thinking maybe I'm just being a baby or paranoid and my shoulder isn't really torn... or this is what I was praying for. Neal played with my shoulder just knowing from my description that it wasn't going to look good anyway. As he was assessing me his facial expressions didn't look too promising.

He's pretty sure that it is torn again and he said it was really weak and pinching in my shoulder and that it wasn't fully recovered from last time. He recommened some really good doctors and said that if I was going to get a third surgery that my best bet is to go to a really really good doctor... and Neal has good connections so I trust him. He said that since I've already had two surgeries that the third may be a bit tougher or at least the MRI would be a little harder to do. Neal also said that he would work with me on rehab if surgery was necessary. Not only is he the head athletic trainer but he is a Physical theorpists and has his own physical theory clinic.

I'm glad Neal is there to give me an honest and good opinion but I wish none of this was going on right now. I just feel like I have no time for this crap between coaching cheerleading and harder classes that I need to become a nurse it just frusterates me! Does this mean I can't coach and am I going to miss out on class stuff?

Neal did make a good point in saying that I am young so its good to get it done now otherwise my shoulder will be popping in and out the rest of my life and will only give me more trouble later in life. You'd think after two surgeries though... UGH!

Neal is going to make a few phone calls for me and I will hear back at the beginning of next week because this week is crazy because of our first football game! Go CARDS! I will keep you all updated! Hopefully with better news!
