In college I have made many new friends but I still haven't forgot about the old. Kalyn Lantz who goes to Taylor University which is like 20mintues away from Ball State, we try to meet every other week to catch up and see how each other is doing. It's really nice to have this time with her. This is time I love spending because Kalyn is one of my great friends and I would never want to lose her friendship. I feel like many of my friendships from highschool have been lost but I know Kalyn will always be there.
It's really strange... I have dreams about Kalyn all the time. Kalyn was an amazing basketball player in highschool and I always dream that I go and watch her play and she's on like this superstar basketball team.. it's kinda fun because that is something that I always used to do in real life.

Never a dull moment with I'm with Kalyn!

Snow day!

So yesterday we had a snow day for yes COLLEGE. So what do college kids do on a snow day you ask? We play football in the snow.

We climb to the stop of snow mounds and slide down. These snow mounds were in the middle of the street so the word was CAR!! (if we saw a car coming we wouldn't want splatter little girls all over the road.
I got called Pippy all day long and I have no idea why (wink wink)
Since we are all poor here in college we had to improvise with out sleds... so we went to the dinning hall to gather our lunch trays aka sleds! this is what i'm sliding on here.
oh what a wonderful snow day we had!

A new Semester

I have officially had my first full week of my new NURSING semester. I am starting to get into classes that involve my major so I actually feel like I'm learning something that I will use. I still have yet to take history though.. YIKES! I was kind of dreading chemistry but now that I am in the class I actually like chemistry! It's hard but I like working on my home work in that class something about it just makes me feel smart ha. All my other classes are going well too. I have a community health sciences class where my prof. is very monotone and its a night class yay.. NOT! I am taking sociology which isn't bad it's very interesting but once again monotone prof. but I have that class with three of the girls I'm living with next year so we can all compare notes. I am also taking aerobics! Yes, my favorite class. I haven't worked out much but my instructor is hilarious!! and she loves me. We stayed after class talking for awhile she's in her 60's and has a Manhattan accent. Needless to say it's always fun in that class b/c she's crazy! And last but not least I'm taking a religion and culture class which is.. well.. interesting. We are talking about all these weird sorts of religions and our professor is really nice and teaches the classes with no opinions but it's still hard because there are those people in our class who are very opinionated about their religions and try to argue. Ugh.. it's annoying!

On a lighter note after my week was over I went out with some friends and ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a year, Cassie Tucker! She came to visit some people at Ball State and luckily I ran into her. This picture was taken right after I tackled her. We sat and chatted for a good hour just talking about great memories. Cass and I cheer together in middle school and all through high school. She was a year older than me. When we were in track we would carpool home and we loved it when my mom would pick us up because we had one of those big vans were you could lay the back seat down... and Cassie and I would lay it all the way down and sit at the very edge. When we got to stop signs we would make my mom take off as fast as she could and we would fly to the back of the van! We would be in so much pain but be laughing hysterically at the same time. Some of my dumbest but most fun things I have done with Cassie. It was a nice little trip down memory lane!

Zumba Zumba! & Dog Sitting

Over break I picked up a new hobby I guess you could say... ZUMBA! Steve's sister asked me to go with her. Zumba is this dance aerobic work out class thingy. It is made up of cumbia, salsa, samba and meringue. I was a little nervous going into it but it turned out to be really fun.

At school I probably worked out a total of 3 times. There are a few reason for that. 1. I was enjoying just relaxing. 2. I wasn't gaining any weight so there was no need to work out 3. After I did work out I was ready to do things like gymnastics things and I knew I couldn't so it was kind of depressing.

Zumba is the cure for that. I love going and it's all dancing for an hour. You never stop so it's a great cardio and also works many other things. There were people of ALL ages there and on Friday's it's co-ed which I couldn't really see a guy doing this kind of class without him losing his masculinity... but they did it.

************
Tonight I was dog sitting little Wriggly (Darcy's Dog) and well I was planning on staying the night there. Wriggly and I played and had a great time but I was getting tired so I decided it was bedtime at about 9:00 (I know college students are suppose to stay up later **not this one** I like my sleep). I go put him in his cage in the basement and cover it with the sheet. I popped in Gilmore Girls to watch and put myself to bed. Laying there I kept hearing noises. I heard car doors, a train, a police car, then a tap on the window (no that was my imagination). I calm myself down and try to stop making stuff up in my head. Then I hear this single THUMP! I just ignore it thinking it was something that didn't matter. I hear it again but it kind of sounds like it is outside so I ignore it again. There it is again and again and AGAIN!? Okay, I'm starting to worry. I turn all sounds off in the room and just listen. I hear something walking around in the living room. I tell myself (it's just your imagination It's JUST UR IMAGINATION!) Okay I'm totally scared so I call my Dad. I'm whispering as I'm talkin to my Dad because I don't want this killer that is in Darcy and Darin's house to hear me. I'm telling my Dad that I'm coming home but I'm too scared to open the door to the bedroom cuz the "guy" is out there. So I grab my keys and put it between my fingers in case I need to punch this guy (Hey, I'm just a little one) I'm standing my the door and I'm waiting for someone to turn the door knob cuz whoever was there was right by the door. My heart is pounding a million times a second (I didn't even need to go to Zumba for that Cardio after all). All of the sudden I hear someone sniffing at the door. I'm thinking why would this person be sniffing? Oh, Jeni's and idiot! It was Wriggly! I open the door and there he is just a wagging his tail. When I put his in his cage I guess I forgot to lock it. Keeping my Dad on the phone I put him back in his cage and MADE SURE that I locked it this time and then I headed the heck home. I didn't feel like being awake all night worrying about scary things. I have a wild imagination. So when I get home I had a feeling my Dad would be outside to scare me cuz he would do something like that so I walk to my door very cautiously looking around carefully. Nothing. Dad was sitting on the couch for the soul reason that Mom wouldn't let him scare me. Thanks Mom.
Well I can tell you right now... I'm NEVER living alone! :)

Updating

Update #1.

Finals Finals Finals.... That's all that has been going on for this week. I actually kind of like this week because there is no scheduled classes just tests which take maybe an hour of my time. I like my schedule. I have one final everyday and 3 out of my 5 finals aren't to bad. I have two down and three more to go. My first one was harder than the professor described it and I haven't talked to one person yet that has gotten higher than a C so it was a toughie but didn't really bring my grade down, luckily. My athletic training final I was thinking that it was going to be hard, and I didn't have a whole lot of motivation for this one because it's no longer my major but I still did good and it actually brought my grade up! Yay!! I have three more to go tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. Thursday's will be hard but the other two are CAKE! Then I'm COMING HOME!! HOORAY!

Update #2.

Kate and I just rearranged our room. It took a lot of thinking and a lot of help from the girls on our floor but we like the change. We feel like we now have more room which is nice. There is just one problem. We used our futon to jump up into our beds now we aren't quite sure how we are going to get up. It's a big challenge without it there. But it's also a good thing we aren't doing that anymore because when we moved the futon we realized that from jumping up there we had bent the frame. UT OH. It's not a big deal but if we would have done that all next year I'm pretty sure we could have said goodbye to our nice expensive futon.

Update #3.

I am not sending out Christmas cards due to lack of funding and lack of time so I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Update #4.

Two weeks ago I got to go to another Colts game! :) I went with Steve, his cousin Brandon, and Phyllis (who I worked with at the Frog), Steve's Sister, and her friend. Our seats were amazing. First row on the ten yard line, right were the colts run out. Reggie Wayne actually looked right at us NO JOKE. Probably because Brandon was yelling at Dallas Clark for not using two hands to catch the ball. HA. It was a very fun game though.

Phyllis and I at the game, with our Reggie Wayne jersey's on!

Nineteen!

Hard to believe that I have been on this earth 19 years. It feels like just yesterday I was playing with my baby dolls... I'm getting so old! HA! Just playing :) On the other hand I did have a wonderful birthday even though I wasn't at home. My birthday was acutally on the 2nd but I didn't want to blog on my brithday I had to much to celebrate!

I woke up and the room was all decorated. With Happy Birthday posters everywhere and streamers. The night before Kate and I both slept on the futon out of pure laziness. So we feel asleep watching a movie and I woke up at 1:00 to shut the t.v. because it was annoying listening to the main screen over and over again. When I shut that off little did I know Kate was standing right above me hanging streamers. Not only that but I cut off her only source of light and the sound was blocking any sounds she could have made. I was oblivious.

I was woken up by many text messages one particually are 6:00a.m. by my AUNT ANGIE who's birthday was also the same day as mine. Then my dad called then my mom so I figured I should get up cuz it was never going to end. I wake up and I had brought back my birthday brownies from home. Since I wasn't at home on my brithday when I went on break we celebrated my birthday then... anywho... We only put two candle in the brownie cuz they were hard on top so we couldn't get the candles in there it was to much work.
I made my wish and blew out my candles.... and my birthday wish did come true. It was to have a great birthday even though I wasn't at home to celebrate it. Kate got me a few gifts.. like the shirt I am wearing in this picture.

She also made this collage for me of all the good times I've had 1st semester and some in the summer. It was really cute. After that I go to check my email and I had two wonderful suprises! 1. My one and only class for that day was cancelled due to an illness of my professor. Shucks! 2. The TIS bookstore had a present for me. So I went to pick it up and it was a free t-shirt and 20% off all my purchases for the day. Look at that. I was excited!
So then Kate and I went to get our nails done. The last place we went did a horrible job so we drove around and found a great place. I LOVE to get my nails done and the lady was so nice and kept complimenting me by the end of the manicure my head almost didn't fit out the door. I also got my eyebrows waxed. Then I ate SUBWAY for lunch. Yum Yum!
After all of that fun with the Kate I made my way over to Steve's house. I get there and he gives me my gift and it was this really pretty jewlery box.

When you open it up it sings this really pretty melody. I taped a picture of him and I on the inside. Inside I also put the necklace that my parents got me which I LOVE! I tried to take a picture of it but it didn't turn out very well. It's a single pearl necklace with a tiny little diamond above it. Its really pretty.

Last but not least... Baily (Scot's dog, steve's roomate) got me a gift. Lady and the Tramp! A great doggie chick flick we could watch together how thoughtful. Thanks Baily!

Steve then took me out to dinner. We went to Flat Top Grill. It was really good they made stirfry for you. You pick what you want and put it in a bowl and they'll cook it for you. Then we went to see a movie, Role Models.. it was pretty funny.
All in all it was a great day!!
