I have made it my new years resolution to blog once a week.. We will see how that goes. I promise to try my hardest. My grandpa encouraged this resolution. It's not that I don't have stuff to talk about I'm just a busy girl. I am dedicating one hour a week to blogging.
Another one of my resolutions is to stretch everyday. I feel like I have lost a ton of flexibility in my legs.. Which I wasn't the most flexible person before now you can just imagine how I am now. I feel like a stiff board. Well I plan to fix that.
A little update on things that have been going on.. I will be having a 4th shoulder surgery over my Spring break. What a way to spend my last spring break huh? I decided to do it then because I'll have time to recover and I want to get it done before I start a job.
Well that's all I have right now I'm babysitting and Lydia just woke up better do my job.

College is Taking Over
I know my blogs have been all writing and not a lot of pictures, but I haven't had a ton of time to take pictures. School has been stressing me out to the max! So I apologize for my lack of pictures.
For a bit that's going on in my life...
School is getting harder and I couldn't be more ready to get out. I'm ready for some change in my life and to be out on my own. I know everyone says 'don't wish away school, it's the best time of your life, you'll wish you could go back' to be honest. Having a job and getting paid for it will be a lot easier for me than studying (aka doing something that I hate) and being put in thousands of dollars of debt. I've always been a hard and good worker, I haven't always been a good student.
I have also joined a sales team. This has been a good experience for me so far. I've been in two competitions, one at IU and one at Ball State. I travel to Wisconsin in three weeks for another competition. We basically go in and role play with a buyer who we try to sell a product. We get the case like a week before and start preparing. Trying to prepare for sales team on top of school is a bit of a challenge but I manage to get it done.
The last two weeks were super stressful for me and I hardly got any sleep. Jeni with no sleep = a BIG grouch! I apologized to my roommates all week and plan to make them dinner one night this week. HA! The end of my two weeks ended with a bit of an emotional break down. I ran into one my professors who I had skipped his class and he called out to me and said hey you doing okay and yup I broke down right in the middle of the business building. Ending up skipping my next class because I couldn't pull myself together. My professor was super helpful and ended up giving me and extension on some papers that were due in his class. Moral of the story is: If you don't do your homework just cry to buy a few days. Alright, not really.
Since everything had been so stressful I decided to venture on home for some good old family time. I was in the mood to make some food so my mom and I made an apple pie together and the next day I made home made pizza. Cooking just puts me in a good mood. As well as spending time with family. When I'm around my family I feel like everything is fine and my stress goes away. I got up and went to church with my parents on Sunday morning and then had family dinners are Grandma and Grandpa Dunithan's house Sunday night. I look forward to those dinners not only for the VERY YUMMY food but spending time with my whole family. Going home was just he medicine I needed to be able to start up a new week.
I'll leave you with a family picture during family weekend.
And of course, Me and Grandpa cuddled up in his recliner!
Have a great week everyone!

One Crazy Summer
Busy busy summer.. I apologize for the lack of blogging.
This summer I started out so excited to be back working at the Frog. I was looking forward to the fun times there, the old people/customers that I get to see, and of course the money that I make. Now that there is only two weeks left in my summer it's kind of funny how that excitement turned into excited to be done working there. I think I just became drained from the place. I have always loved working there and the people I work with but this summer has just been different. So now I no longer work there.
On the other hand 3 weeks ago I started a new internship. The internship I blogged about before actually didn't end out working out. Once push came to shove the guy bailed without warning.. what can you do? Well the answer is, get a better internship that's paid and a lot more beneficial that could possibly lead to a future job. I started a marketing internship at a brand new orthopedic company in Warsaw, which is exactly where I want to be. I love what I'm doing and the people are great. I am actually working with the vice president of marketing and sales. I couldn't be happier with the way things worked out. It's one big answered prayer.
I am also on a bar sand volleyball league at spikes in Warsaw. We play every Wednesday night and it's a lot of fun.
I got all moved into my new place down in Muncie and it's looking nice! Big living room and kitchen just not a whole ton of storage space in the kitchen so we'll see how that goes. I'm ready to go back to school I just can't believe it's my last year then I'm facing the big bad world. I honestly think I'm ready for it. I ready for change. Something different in my life. A new start. Everyone keeps saying don't rush it, which I don't want to I'm excited for the fun of my senior year but I also am ready for life.
I went to San Diego this summer. It was a good time. Different from Indiana that's for sure!!! It was beautiful.
Right before my little vacation I took two summer classes and made the Deans list.. yay for me! My letter is currently hanging on my parents fridge.
My summer has been pretty busy... hoping to be able to blog more.

I need more hours in one day!
Busy busy busy... those are the only words to describe how my life has been this past week. It is currently 3:15a.m. and I am working on this ridiculous business law paper. I've been up late every night and getting up early every morning as well. It's funny though, the only people in the library this late are all the business law students working on this paper because we all have to use the same books and none of these books are aloud to leave the library. I think that I have made more friends in my business law class than any other class just because of this stupid paper, so I guess that's a plus.
On top of this unnecessary 20 page paper for an intro level class that I have to write I still have homework, tests, and quizzes in all my other classes plus other homework for that class I'm writing a paper in. I know typical college stuff right? Well that would be all fine and dandy if that was all I was doing... I'm also trying to work on top of that (someone's gotta pay the bills) ;) and I got 2 interviews this week with two different companies.
I received a called over spring break from a company called IKON wanting me to come in for an interview. I said yes if nothing else to get interviewing experience. This was my first professional interview and I was so incredibly nervous. There were two guys interviewing me and the one guy was the guy I gave my resume to at the Career fair and he was extremely nice. At first I know they could tell I was nervous, I was sitting straight as a board, so stiff not moving and I felt very uncomfortable. The guy who was mainly interviewing me said he wanted this interview to seem informal and he just wanted to get to know me, and instantly I loosened up thinking Hey, I know me... this will be easy.. this isn't a test... I can talk about me... what do you want to know I'm an open book...
I think I was so nervous because the classes I have taken the the people I talk to say know the company you're interviewing for, do research, impress them by your knowledge.... So hearing those things made me nervous I did some research to get to know the company but I didn't know exactly what I needed to know I felt like I was studying all the wrong things for a test and I didn't want to go in there looking like a fool... Well I in fact did not. People freaked me out too much about this.. The company wanted to get to know me and my strengths and my goals and what I could contribute to them. I could sit there and be myself. I felt good about myself being able to share my experiences with someone who could use them for their company. I know I'm only a junior but they said they want to keep a relationship with me and know where I'm at and what I'm doing because when I do graduate they want to be there to recruit me.
Some of the things that impressed me about the company the most are that they are very close knit company with their employees. By the way the Director of Sales was talking they hire all their promotions within house and they seek a certain type of person. As he was describing that person I felt deep down that he was describing me to a T and I hope that they got that information from what I had to say. Another thing that I shared was my gymnastics experience and how it related to sales.. had to throw that in there and I feel the need to share on here.. and to be honest I've never really thought of it before until I was speaking it in my interview...
As most all of you know from first hand or previous blogs I was a gymnast and in gymnastics competition is basically and individual sport. You have to work hard to get to be the best, you set goals for yourself you want to achieve and work hard to achieve them, and you can't be afraid to try new things to make yourself stand out. BUT even though you are working hard on your own to achieve your goals you are doing everything FOR your team. Just one person cannot make a team. Everyone's hard work and ability needs to come together to gain true excellence. And this is the same things for what I want to do with my life, SALES as a sales rep I will need to go out and make my own visits, appointments, and calls if I want to succeed... but even though I would be doing this all on my own it is all being done for the company as a whole to make one big team. All the little scores get added to make one big score. Everyone there is a team as well and without the other sales reps it couldn't make a complete team. It is exactly the same.
The sales director said that his daughter was a gymnast and said after watching her practice he said that it had to be the hardest sport ever and that if I could be a gymnast that I could handle anything. It's funny how I thought going into the interview the only highlight I could talk about gymnastics was being captain but I got so much more out of it than that.
Another connection I made was the director of sale's son is on the Ball State football team. Not only do I work at the football stadium but his son is in my business law class and we were working on our paper's together. Lucky for me after my interview I got back to the library and Brooks (the son) was there and said that his Dad and the other interviewer were both really impressed by me that I have a side source to get the information. It made me realize though how important it is to make relationships and network with people. It truly can make all the difference.
I wasn't expecting my blog to be this long. I kinda went on a tangent but I was so excited about my interview I wanted to share.. I could probably go on and on but I'll spare you the reading if you do want to read/hear more feel free to ask. :) I have one more interview tomorrow...
Oh I also just back from spring break so I will surely post about that soon!

Internship
A few days ago Ball State/Pi Sigma Epsilon (which I recently joined) hosted the largest sales career fair in the nation. So, it was kind of a big deal. Well, I wasn't all that thrilled with my choices of companies to intern with. After talking to companies like Whirlpool, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Hershey, and some student led internships I was more discouraged than anything. Nothing seemed like a good fit for me or anything that I was interested in or could get excited about.
The next day I was pretty discouraged and did a lot of processing and praying about what if I'm in the wrong major, am I really going to get what I want even if I try really hard to get it, is this what God wants me to do with my life... things like that.
About a month ago I wrote down a list of names of people I knew in different companies that could possibly help me get a good internship or people that said they would help me look. I came up with about 12 people. I had tried to contact a few of them but things just weren't falling into place like I would have liked. I continued down my list and contacted Luke Matz via facebook. Over the summer we talked a little about sales and he said when I came to the point of needing an internship he told me to talk to him about it, so I did. We had been emailing back and forth and I was telling him some of the things I was looking for and yesterday I get an email saying, "I can help." What I am going to be doing is co-traveling with Luke and visiting doctors and working at their branch in South Bend one day. He does dental equipment sales. This internship is something much more of what I was leaning towards. I was sooo excited to read that message from him. It works out perfect because I can still take summer classes first summer session. Which I have to take Marketing 300 before I can get credit for an internship anyways. Then I will be on track to graduate July 2012.
Things are really falling into place and I couldn't be happier. It just shows how good God is when I was feeling like giving up he was there.

Crazy Busy!
It have been quite some time since I have blogged. I have been extremely busy lately but it's been good busy not stress busy. I have been getting more involved in school which is a good thing. Since I have switched my major to business I feel more at home. I really enjoy my classes a lot more even the ones that aren't that fun and I am determined and motivated to get good grades in all my classes. I also recently join Pi Sigma Epsilon. PSE is a business fraternity. And yes girls can be in it.. its coed. Being in PSE for only a short time I've already made new friends and am having a lot of fun. We have gone to a Pacers game, a company called TQL donated $2000 dollars to us and took us to Scotty's Brewhouse for dinner and paid for everything, we've had a bake sale, put on a basketball tournament called Winter Jam.. and so much more. At the end of March we will be going to a PSE National Conference in Orlando and I cannot wait. Not only will we have a lot of fun I'm sure but there will be a career fair there, many workshops, and sale competitions going on. Everyone I talked to says it's a life changing experience and I cannot wait to go.
On top of all that business I am still working at the football stadium everyday and babysitting 3 days a week. I recently started donating plasma but the facility in Muncie stresses me out every time I go because the people or their system or something is so unorganized it's frustrating. I also am making it a habit to do some sort of homework everyday even if I don't technically have any.. which is progress already from last semester. I did end up with good grades last semester though.
We have a sales career fair coming up on Monday. I am still deciding whether or not I'm going to get an internship this summer or not. If I want to graduate somewhat on time I need to take summer classes but its highly recommended that I get an internship.. I may get one in the fall in that case. That is all still up in the air.
Regardless of the busyness in my life I am going to try to blog more to keep you all updated on the wonderful life of Jeni Dunithan because I know how much you all enjoy reading about my life ;)
Untill next time....

Miss Claire Hazen
This is Claire Hazen one of the little girls I baby sit and she is the smartest 3 year old I know... but if you had 6 older brothers and sister pretty sure you'd learn a lot too not to mention one younger one.
I baby sit Claire and Lydia (18months) a couple times a week and Claire is hilarious! Lydia pretty much napped the whole time I was there this day so Claire and I had a photo shoot I was trying to teach her to do a fishy face...

A few funny stories about Claire... One day I went over to watch her and she looked really sad and sighed really big I said Claire what's wrong and she just pointed across the room to a few toys on the ground. I said what is that stuff bothering you? She said (in a mother like voice) I JUST CLEANED! I about lost it.. bet she's heard that saying a few times before.
Last time I watched her she kept telling me how much she loved me and I just couldn't get enough of it..
Claire: I love you Jeni
Jeni: I love you too Claire
Claire: I love you Jeni
Jeni: I love you more
Claire I love you most
Jeni: I love you A LOT
Claire: I love you a lotest
I had a few videos of her signing some pretty popular songs and it was hilarious because she would sing parts and make the rest up but it amazingly still fit the tune of the song. I also have a few where she made up her own song... I just can't figure out how to get them off my phone.
